This division manages
and operates the county's computer center, providing
data processing, systems analysis, programming, personal
computer, Internet and Web Page development, LAN and
WAN data communications support, telephone communications,
and Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.)
support for all Board of County Comissioners departments
and divisions. IT interfaces with and provides various
levels of support for these tasks for the Clerk of
Courts, Supervisor of Elections, Property Appraiser,
Tax Collector, and the Tenth Judicial Circuit.

Our Mission
Information Technology supplies information and communication
systems to Polk County government agencies that improve their
operational efficiency and the quality of customer service they
provide. IT manages and operates the county's computer center,
providing information processing, systems analysis, computer programming,
personal computer network support, geographic information development
and support, telephone and data communications, Internet and Intranet
services. IT strives to support our internal customers and citizens
by implementing and supporting:
- Information and communication systems that increase County government operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Technologies that increase the accessibility of public information.
- Automated solutions that support development of good public policy.
